Farnoush Amiri - Reporter at the Associated Press

With varied experience working in the media, Farnoush Amiri is a reporter with The Associated Press, a company she began working for in June 2019. With the role, Farnoush Amiri is responsible for covering politics and general news in Ohio. Before that, she worked as a journalist for the AP in New York City, where she sourced and verified user-generated content and covered breaking news.

At AP, Ms. Amiri has covered a broad range of events, including the Santa Clarita school shooting and the 2019 London stabbings. Using a wealth of tools, she has also worked on stories in and around Iran, where she was able to utilize her Farsi language skills.

Before this, Farnoush Amiri was one of 16 people selected to be a Voices Fellow at the Asian American Journalists Association in the summer of 2019. During this time, she worked on an investigative report focused on racial and geographic equity for interns in major newsrooms across the United States.

She holds a bachelor of arts in journalism from San Francisco State University as well as a master’s in the field, which she earned with honors from New York University.
